Valentina's novel stuck on page 247 for three years. The detective should act — the prosecutor can't allow it. About professional deformation and creativity.

My novel has been on page 247 for three years.

Elena — my detective — is sitting in a car outside a house she shouldn't be at and is in the process of making a decision that changes everything.

The problem: I can't let her decide. I'm a prosecutor. Intuition is right seventy percent of the time — which means it's catastrophically wrong thirty percent of the time.

My editor says: just let her do it. It's fiction.

I know that. I still can't write it.

Elena has been waiting for three years. She's getting impatient. I can tell.
